Airparks Announce New Acquisition at Luton

Airparks announce acquisition of Central Car Storage

IAPA member Airparks, the operator of car parks serving both Luton and Birmingham Airports, with a combined total of 7,000 parking spaces, has announced the acquisition of a new car park at Luton Airport - Central Car Storage.

Central Car Storage has 350 parking spaces, located just four minutes by shuttle transfer from London Luton Airport terminal. The car park was established in 1966 and has built a loyal customer following. The existing ten Central Car Storage team will all be offered the opportunity to join the Airparks family.

Howard Dove, CEO for Airparks said: “This is a really exciting development for Airparks as the new site is significantly closer to the airport. Initially we’ll continue to run the facility under the Central Car Storage brand, and then review any brand changes later in the year.

Our Park IT technology will be implemented at the site to manage customers’ cars and keys from check in to check out with ease. Airparks will have an opportunity to develop the service for our customers and still maintain a small business feel that we know Central Car Storage customers really value.”

Lee Shepherd, the outgoing owner of Central Car Storage added: “Firstly, Lisa and I would like to thank all of our customers from over the years for their support. We feel that it’s time for us to move on and we are very pleased that Airparks will now be running the site. They have a team that, like ours, take great pride in their work and always put the customer first.

“It’s our hope that the car park will continue to deliver a convenient, quick airport parking service with Airparks for many more years to come.”
